PFRD
Wearable. Pelvic Floor Reinforcer
Field:
Urology, Uro-Gyn., ObGyn & Proctology, Sexology
Description:
Innoventions developed a wearable device for Reinforcing the Pelvic Floor Muscles after childbirth by accelerating muscle tissue regeneration. Our observational real life study and tissue culture studies proved the effectiveness of the effect of our stimulation technology in the organization and acceleration of muscle tissue cells.
Need:
More than 50% of women develop some degree of pelvic floor disorder following childbirth caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy and pelvic muscle trauma during natural childbirth. Since the urethral and anal sphincters and the vaginal musculature are a part of the pelvic floor muscle, some or all of them may become affected. As such, in many cases women develop bladder and bowel control problems as well as vaginal laxity affecting their sexual life. There are many physiotherapy and electrostimulation treatments for sphincteric reinforcement but all necessitate treatment sessions with the active participation of the affected woman. The device Innovention developed turns the regeneration to a passive treatment occurring during work or sleep.
Advantages:
-
Novel non-invasive approach for pelvic floor reinforcement
-
‘Class I’ device
-
No electrical stimulation
-
No contraction exercises
-
Minimal patient training
-
No need for active cooperation
-
Home treatment sessions (e.g. during sleep)
-
Very affordable
-
OTC

Business opportunity:
According the US National Center for Health Statistics the number of vaginal deliveries in the US in 2016 is : 2,684,803. With one of three new mothers becoming incontinent after childbirth, the potential number of users for the PFRD, only in the US are about 895,000 a year.
